Kabuki-cho
Night-time strolls through Tokyo's most famous red-light district
“Welcome back, Mister Cameraman !”
That's how I was greeted by a friendly Nigerian tout at the start of my third night in Kabuki-cho, Japan's most notorious red-light district.
A place of perdition that is both extremely safe when you stay on the street, and extremely dangerous — for your wallet, but not only that — for anyone who pushes open the door of one of the hostess bars or other dodgy joints.
I didn’t do the latter. Maybe next time.
This place is a world on its own in the city that never sleeps. Mister Cameraman can't wait to go back.
